Cthulhu vs. The Vikings has come to Facebook. The popular hnefatafl game, which started out as a Kickstarter project for a physical game and product, was recently released for Android devices. And as of this week, players can now play the game on Facebook.

The game is multi-player, though being on-line, opponents will not be difficult to find. Creator Kris Wheaton explains: "we set the game up so it is sort of like Words with Friends. You aren't playing against the computer - you are playing against either your friends or against other random players online who are looking for a fight. In addition, you can have up to 10 games going at once and once you make your move, you can go about your business until your opponent makes a move. You don't have to sit at the computer/tablet/smartphone all day."

The game requires you to set up a free user account. After that, the game will allow local play (against a friend sitting at the same computer) or on-line play, allowing you to play against people around the world. Facebook players will be able to play against those using Android, Chrome or the web version available at

The Facebook version of the game can be found at
