Cthulhu vs The Vikings Comes to Facebook
Friday, 13th June 2014
Cthulhu vs. The Vikings has come to Facebook. The popular hnefatafl game, which started out as a Kickstarter project for a physical game and product, was recently released for Android devices. And as of this week, players can now play the game on Facebook.
The game is multi-player, though being on-line, opponents will not be difficult to find. Creator Kris Wheaton explains: "we set the game up so it is sort of like Words with Friends. You aren't playing against the computer - you are playing against either your friends or against other random players online who are looking for a fight. In addition, you can have up to 10 games going at once and once you make your move, you can go about your business until your opponent makes a move. You don't have to sit at the computer/tablet/smartphone all day."
The game requires you to set up a free user account. After that, the game will allow local play (against a friend sitting at the same computer) or on-line play, allowing you to play against people around the world. Facebook players will be able to play against those using Android, Chrome or the web version available at http://www.sourcesandmethodsgames.com/#/cvtv/4572662789.
The Facebook version of the game can be found at http://apps.facebook.com/cthulhuvikings/
