Our favourite game will have a presence at the Princes Avenue Arts Festival in Hull. Some last-minute arrangements have resulted in Cyningstan having a stall at the festival, which takes place this Saturday from midday till 5pm. The stall will be entirely given over to hnefatafl, under the name "Hnefatafl: the Game of the Vikings".

The stall will have games on display for demonstration, teaching and entertainment, as well as a large number of rules leaflets to give away. We'll be taking a selection of our game stock to sell, as well as a sizeable pile of "An Introduction to Hnefatafl" booklets.

Princes Avenue Arts Festival, otherwise known as Vista, takes place once every two years, the street being closed off for the afternoon to accommodate it. There are music and other live performance acts, as well as stalls for local traders and charities. As well as the outdoor stalls, there is usually a craft fair inside the Artlink building too.

Princes Avenue has become something of a culture and leisure quarter in the city. About a mile from the city centre, it is host to cafe-bars and independent shops, as well as the local arts organisation Artlink. The area is popular with students, with a concentration of student houses in the area.

The festival is expected, as always, to be a huge success, and we look forward to introducing many of the attendants to hnefatafl!
