Northwest England Tournament Results

The Regional Northwest England Hnefatafl Tournament took place on Saturday 4th October.

The Thor's Hammer Challenge, in a monumental battle that lasted an hour, was won by visiting former World Champion Tim Millar, who beat current English champion Timothy Bullen. It was a part of a larger event, the Formby Viking Day, which included events and a market, and was a wonderful success despite changeable weather.

The Hnefatafl tournament was organised by Tony Higginson of Formby Books, who has hosted a regular hnefatafl night in Formby for some time. The Formby team had at their disposal a wall-mounted board and a large outdoor "garden" hnefatafl set.
